Stunning Kauai Coast Engagement

Epic cliffs on the coast of Kauai? Yes, please! Some locations are truly breathtaking and Kauai certainly offers no shortage of stunning scenery. The coastline is especially dramatic, though some parts, like the Ka’napali Coast, can be challenging to access. E + R were in Kauai for their destination wedding (see post here) and we thought, “well, why not do some portraits since we’re here??” While scouting for their beach ceremony, I came across the Maha’ulepu Heritage Trail (a popular spot for cliff jumping!) and the petrified sand dunes along the trail. Needless to say, I was blown away by what I saw and couldn’t wait to photograph E + R with such an awesome background, and just a short walk from Shipwreck’s Beach where they were getting married! We started off in the jungle by Old Koloa Town and then headed to the cliffs for sunset. Being there at golden hour was a truly magical experience.

There are so many hidden corners to explore and together with A + E, we found some truly magical spots.

The sun was firmly kept at by our friend Karl, but the moody ambience inspired C + K to hold each other close and stay snuggly — perfect for a winter engagement session.
