Boulder Colorado Adventure Elopement

I was so excited to go to Boulder to photograph S + D’s adventure elopement; this was actually part two of their wedding celebration, part one was in California, and for the second half we headed to Colorado. S + D met in Colorado and recently moved back there from California so it made perfect sense to celebrate their wedding in both states. When I was scouting for portrait locations, D knew they absolutely wanted photos in front of the Flatirons as they are one of his favorite places — he even has them tattooed on his arm!

After spending some time in front of the Flatirons, we headed up the mountain to a few different scenic spots. The first area had all these beautiful red rock formations and trees. It’s also a popular bouldering spot and we saw chalk evidence of rock climbers who were there earlier in the day.

We ended the day high on top of the mountain with Boulder in the distance. I love that S + D wanted to celebrate their wedding in both of their homes (Colorado and California); it’s so important to plan your wedding in a way that’s meaningful to you as a couple. And it gave me a great reason to come out and explore Colorado a bit myself :)
