California Farm Wedding in Mendocino

Wow, folks, it’s been super hard paring down which images to blog for L + F’s beautiful California farm wedding in Mendocino. I’m really in love with their wedding which had so many fantastic and personal details! I would apologize for the sheer number of images, but since you’ll (hopefully) enjoy them, I’m just going to sit back and set the stage. Pardon me while I gush.

L + F got ready at the Point Arena Lighthouse, which is a stunning historic set of buildings that are available to rent out and stay. Situated right on the coast, the day started off with foggy skies and sweeping winds. L + F shared their first look on the bluffs overlooking the water and then we headed inland towards their wedding venue: Oz Farm.

Can I just say how I’m becoming totally obsessed with farm weddings? First, I LOVE weddings that all happen in the same place. How nice is it not to have to worry about transportation in between your ceremony location and your reception? Plus, Oz Farm is especially cool because they offer overnight accommodations as well! (Check out their Hipcamp listing.) Having everyone stay in one place together means you get to spend the entire wedding weekend together, lots of quality time. Not only that, but Oz Farm grows their own flowers so L + F got to incorporate them into their wedding! Talk about locally sourced! It also doesn’t hurt that the farm is gorgeous, offering lots of diverse space to be used. The ceremony was in a redwood grove on the edge of the property, then cocktails in the orchard, dinner in the barn, and then the after party at the geo-domes! So cool!

For their ceremony under the redwood trees, I love that L + F also included different traditions like hand fasting and exchanging coins. After they were married, their friends and family peppered them with biodegradable confetti, making for a spectacular exit.

Portraits were so dreamy. We headed to the flower fields to take advantage of the gorgeous blooms. (Seriously, is there anything better than California farm weddings??) Also, L’s wedding look? A veil cape AND a crystal crown? I can’t even. She’s the best.

Afterwards, the party moved to the geo-domes and glamping part of the property. Most guests walked from the reception barn — pretty adventurous as it was full dark and the walk included crossing a log bridge across a creek, then scurrying up a ladder (that wanted to be stairs) pressed against the sandy banks. We opted to take a shortcut to the creek using my Subaru (AWD for the win!) and as we caught up with guests walking on the road, I jokingly told L to use her “bride powers” to clear the way. With no hesitation, she lowered the window and called out, “Make way for the bride! Bride coming through!” as we all crack up. Seriously, I love L + F and their unforgettable wedding so much.

Also, Milky Way star filled makes me beyond happy!
