Washington Forest Elopement

Same sex couple celebrate their wedding at Moulton Falls in Washington

If you’ve ever been to the Pacific Northwest (PNW for short), you know there’s no shortage of beautiful forests, epic waterfalls, and scenic rivers. As PNW natives themselves, J + D had been to pretty much every gorgeous waterfall in the area and wanted to go somewhere new to take their wedding portraits. After landing on Moulton Falls, with its stunning and historic arch bridge, we started planning their session which included a short hike through the forest.

Tips for Moulton Falls:

  • A popular weekend location, highly recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

  • Just a head’s up: there can be folks swimming in the river here in the summertime and dare devils have been known to jump from the bridge.

  • There’s one small parking area just east of the bridge and a second larger parking area further along the road.

  • Be sure to set aside some time to walk through the forest and check out both waterfalls to get the full experience.

After enjoying the view and playing on the rocks with the bridge in the background, we headed back to the woods for more portraits with the beautiful ferns along the way.
